A New Painting!

After being distracted by various events in life and just enjoying it, I have a new work to share, Nebula.
It was a fun one to do.  I actually did the first layer months ago and it just did not seem complete.  I think that I just need to sign it now!
There is another one, but it's still in the works...  We call it work, but it's really our passion!  And I love sharing it with you!

Making time

It's so easy to procrastinate, get involved in social activities etc., when we need to get in the studio.  I always have many house hold projects going, which need to be done, but they are ways to procrastinate too.  Currently I am painting the walls of my studio.  It need freshening after years of painting in there, and I thought that a neutral gray would be good as I also photograph art work in the studio.  Well, I must admit that this project has taken longer than it should and I am not getting to the real painting that I should do.  Of course website and blogs are distractions too.

I find that I must prioritize.  First, art studio time, then organize, blog, websites (I do get paid for this and for lessons about creating websites, so I must keep this one up there in the ranking), then the house hold projects, then social time...  It's a balancing act!!

So, this is the first blog on this site and it will be short.  I hope you are all finding your priorities and enjoying the muse!

Sue moved to Lucas, TX in 2019, after may years in Houston. Burke Studio continues, just a new location!! She was born in Michigan, but has lived in many states since.  In Texas there is a saying, I wasn't born here, but I got here as soon as I could!  It has become home in every way.    Houston has such a vibrant art scene, it's a great place to be for an artist! There are always art shows to see as well as fellow artists to share with and I am fortunate to have family nearby.
